Udara

2020-2021 - Accor Design Awards 2021

Udara is a project designed for the international design competition the Accor Design Awards 2021.

The whole idea of the project was to create a new way to travel in 2035 without impacting the environment as well as to discover many places rather than just one.

With our team, we chose to use airship technology to fly for a long time without emitting any pollutants as well as to offer an experience in Oceania, where many fragile but beautiful ecosystems and islands are located. And this, without building any structure on it: no concrete base, no pipe to bury, no trees to cut down.

To make the most ancient human dream of flying reality, every detail inside the room is designed to extend the lightness feeling. For example, the bed or armchair which are suspended by using magnetic levitation creating a real sensation of flying and liberty.

Guest literally float in the air. The room has a circular shape designed to offer a 180° spectacular view. Also, guest could rotate their room to choose if they want to see the landscape or have more tranquillity. The global design is a subtle inspiration of locals materials as wells as natural shape from the Ocean, Desert or forest.
